What are the types of couplings
There are many kinds of couplings. According to the relative position and position changes of the two shafts connected, they can be divided into:
① Fixed coupling. It is mainly used in the places where the two shafts are strictly aligned and no relative displacement occurs in the work. The structure is generally simple and easy to manufacture, and the instantaneous speed of the two shafts is the same, mainly including flange coupling, sleeve coupling, jacket coupling, etc.
② Removable coupling. It is mainly used in the places where two shafts are inclined or have relative displacement in work. According to the method of compensating displacement, it can be divided into rigid movable coupling and elastic movable coupling. The rigid movable coupling is compensated by the degree of motion in one or several directions formed by the dynamic connection between the working parts of the coupling, such as tooth embedded coupling (allowing axial displacement), cross groove coupling (used to connect two shafts with parallel displacement or small angular displacement), universal coupling (used for places where two shafts have large deflection angle or have large angular displacement in work), and gears The elastic movable coupling (referred to as elastic coupling) uses the elastic deformation of the elastic elements to compensate the deflection and displacement of the two shafts. At the same time, the elastic elements also have cushioning and damping performance, such as serpentine spring coupling, radial multi-layer leaf spring coupling, elastic ring bolt coupling and nylon bolt pin coupling Rubber sleeve coupling, etc. Some couplings have been standardized. When selecting, the appropriate type should be selected according to the working requirements, then the torque and speed should be calculated according to the diameter of the shaft, and then the applicable model should be found out from the relevant manual, and finally the necessary checking calculation should be made for some key parts.
